| 内容記述 | 1934年5月に東洋経済新報社からThe Oriental Economist（英文東洋経済新報）が創刊された。そして、日本の政治・経済事情に関する正確な情報を海外に発信することを目的とした。この時期に新たな英文雑誌が創刊されたことは興味深いにもかかわらず、同誌を主題とした研究は皆無に等しい状況である。そこで、本稿では同誌の全体像を明らかにするために、創刊初期に焦点を当てながら、記事の構成、寄稿者、広告を分析した。 | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | Toyo Keizai Inc. which was founded in 1895 and first published Toyo Keizai Shimpo in same year. It published the first issue of The Oriental Economist which was Toyo Keizai Shimpo in English editions in May 1934. Its purpose of publication was to transmit to foreign countries an accurate information about political and economic situations in Japan. Although what the magazine was published in that time is a topic of great interest, there is few study about that. To show an overall of the magazine, this research paper focuses on an early period of that publication and analyzes its content, contributors and advertisements. | |||||||||||||
