| 内容記述 | 本稿は，ドイツの哲学者ノルベルト・ボルツの「メディア論」の特徴を明らかにするものである。ボルツはニクラス・ルーマンの社会システム論から強く影響を受け，社会を個人間の「理性的な合意」に基礎づけようとするユルゲン・ハーバーマスの思想を徹底的に批判する。その一方で，メディアと社会との関係についての考察を展開する。我々が現実を観察するインタフェースとしてのメディアはデジタル化の時代を迎えて根本的に変化し，現実とメディア表象の二分法を根本的に解体し，人間の「感覚変容」をもたらし，「弱いつながり」が重視される時代を導いた。これらの考察は，メディア文化と身体性などの関係を社会学的に考える上で大きな示唆を与えてくれるものだ。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This research note is to clarify the major characteristics of Norbert Bolz'theory. Having been significantly influenced by the social system theory of Niklas Luhmann, Bolz developed his own social theory and harshly criticized Jürgen Habermas's social theory based on the idea of communicative rationality. Bolz also developed his own media theory and argued that the digital media revolution transformed our senses of reality. The dichotomy between reality and media representation has radically fallen apart as we cannot determine the differences between the real and virtual. The latest media technology allows an immersion into virtual reality without making us aware of its existence. The computer science algorithm has established foundation in our society as a tool to control human beings. Digital media technology has also changed our image of social capital. Weaker ties in cyberspace have become more effective than the stronger ties in physical space among intimate persons like friends or family as the former is more informative than the latter. These arguments of Norbert Bolz can be effectively applied to the sociological analysis of contemporary media culture. | |||||
