| 内容記述 | This study first aims to observe how the recent 'hybridization' of academic and industrial rationales (Gibbons et al. 1994) exerts its influence over the new formation of doctoral students, and second, seeks to apprehend the different ways young scientists are socialized within a specific —societal— set of institutional arrangements, by comparing four OECD countries (USA, France, Great Britain and Germany). The formation of young scientists brings into play a multiplicity of institutions at local or national levels and mobilizes the various resources available to them. These complex institutional interactions require them to adopt a variety of behaviors based on a diversity of animating principles. Thus, in order to uncover the so-called 'societal' modes of the construction of new scientific knowledge and competence, we are led to analyze simultaneously the socialization of young scientists and the various institutional configurations. For this purpose, we will scrutinize some of the essential elements that structure this process, such as the funding system, the nature of the contract between doctoral students and their supervising institutions, the rules governing the academic community, training-job transition, career paths etc. | |||||||||||||||||||
