| 内容記述 | GKN社は20世紀初頭に合併によって誕生した南ウェールズを代表する製鉄会社であるが、初期の市場や関連産業との関係は明らかでなかった。本稿は1つの鋳造所との関係に焦点をあわせ、以下の3点を明らかにした。第1に、この時期のGKN社は植民地市場に依存した。第2に、GKN社は受注生産と見込生産を併用していた。第3に、鋳造所は、GKN社のマーケティング能力を補ったが、生産管理能力を補うことはできなかった。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | GKN was an iron-manufacturing company that had been formed by a merger of iron companies in the early 20th century, and it represented the iron industry in South Wales; however, neither the realities of its markets nor its connection to related industries in its early years have been clear. This study, by focusing on GKN's relationship with an iron foundry (Isca Foundry & Engineering Co.), makes three points clear. First, GKN in its early years was dependent on the British colonial markets. Second, it took part in on-order production, together with the making of stock. Third, the iron foundry compensated for GKN's marketing, but could not compensate for its production controls. | |||||
