| 内容記述 | The study provides first-hand examination of how consensus to adopt a human rights message emerged within San Francisco "Comfort Women" Justice Coalition in the context of long-standing local human rights vernacularization history related to the "Comfort Women" issue. It suggests that informed political and strategic calculus guided the adoption of the explicitly universalizing and gendered human rights message, suggesting the important site of human rights vernacularization as the process therein. The paper concludes by suggesting further research into the unique roles played by vernacularizers who are not monolithic and employ distinct approaches and techniques in the course of vernacularizing, in their respective socio-cultural contexts and objectives. | |||||
