Therefore, this study focused on a probe using a screw unit. We propose a \"tapered screw\" with different screw radius inlet and outlet diameters as a new screw geometry to improve the hill climbing performance of Screw. We compared the taper shape of the screw and the number of blades to verify how hill climbing performance and power consumption change. In addition, the sand filling rate of each screw thread was analyzed using a 3D scanner, and running performance was evaluated based on the amount of sand transported. As a result, it is clear that a tapered shape is expected to reduce weight. Furthermore, increasing the number of blades improved hill climbing
