This study argues that international intervention offers acceptable means to resolve conflicts and establish long-term, legitimate peace in the eyes of locals. It also considers the case of the Solomon Islands in the Melanesia region in Oceania which accepted international intervention — by the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (hereinafter, RAMSI) — and accomplished the process of recovery in the aftermath of its national
