Through a review of previous research that matched IT professionals to the external environment, I examined the career development of IT professionals as an internal resource of the organization. IT professionals need to have the autonomous transformational capacity based on career orientation and management that facilitates such transformation, and the process of reconfiguration of professional capabilities through career orientation enhances organizational agility, a consideration that is encouraged by management in which organizational strategy is
