처음으로 모두 소개하였다. 그 자료들이 보여주는 중요한 특징에 대하여 일본 쯕 유화(類話）인 <鼠の嫁入り （쥐의 결혼）＞ 설화 자료들을 들어서 비교 고찰을 진행하였다. 그 결과 <두더지의 혼인>설화의 특징인 <두더지> 모티프가 일본의 구전 자료 58 본 가운데 16 본에 확인할 수가 있었고, 또한 <미륵（弥勒）>모티프는 <지장（地蔵）>으로 변용된 모습으로 남아 있는 사실도 확인하였다. 이와 같은 사실들은 우리 나라 <두더지의 혼인> 설화가 일본으로 전파된 결과라는 것을
