| 内容記述 | 「神義論」とは、世界における悪の存在を説明しつつ、神の全知全能性と善性を弁明する理論である。本講演では、この課題に答えるためにライプニッツが考案した論理を踏まえたうえで、現代の英語圏における神義論の代表例である「自由意志論」と「エイレナイオス型神義論」を概説する。一方、ヴェーバーは宗教社会学の分野において「神義論」という語を「『世界の不完全性の問題』に対して宗教の提供する解決法」の意味で用いて諸宗教の比較考察を試みた。ヴェーバーの見解を紹介した後、イエスや親鸞のような宗教者が「神義論を要請する心理」そのものを如何に乗り越えたかにも言及する。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | Theodicy is a theory that purports to defend the omnipotence, omniscience, and goodness of God while also explaining the existence of evil in this world. This lecture examines the strategies Leibniz employed to carry out this task and summarizes two of the main theodicies in the contemporary English-speaking world, i. e., "free will defense" and "Irenaean theodicy." Weber, on the other hand, used the term "theodicy" to denote the answer that a religion gives to the problem of "the imperfection of the world" and compared world religions by examining their respective theodicies. This lecture concludes with some remarks on Jesus and Shinran regarding how they transcended the human psychological need for theodicy. | |||||||||||
