 note = {本稿では、イギリスの廃娼運動家・モーリス・グレゴリーの来日（1911〜1912年）に焦点を当て、日本の廃娼運動の全国組織である廓清会が万国廃娼同盟会に加盟した経緯について論じる。特に、グレゴリーが来日の約22年前にクエーカーのクリスチャンとしてインドのボンベイで『アジアの旗』を刊行し始めた頃には、イギリス帝国と日本の近代公娼制度の関係に既に関心を持ち、それをアジアのイギリス領におけるアヘン取引問題との関連において捉えていたことを明らかにする。, In this paper, I focus on Maurice Gregory's visit to Japan from 1911 to 1912 as a director of the British Committee of the International Federation for the Abolition of State Regulation of Vice and how the Japanese Purity Agitation Society 'Kakusei-kai' joined the membership of the Federation.
