 note = {本論文では主に東京の駒込病院を事例として、看護を担う者が明治期日本の感染症の流行によって雑用を担う者から知識を持つ専門職に変貌していく過程を考察した。第1に1904年に駒込病院で看護婦の養成制度が誕生した大きな理由は院内感染対策にあったことを明らかにした。第2に駒込病院では院内感染を防ぐ目的で、看護婦の職階制度が誕生したことを実証した。, In this paper, using Komagome Hospital in Tokyo as an example, we examine the changing roles of nurses from a person performing odd jobs to a professional with knowledge due to the experience of working during infectious disease epidemics in Japan during the Meiji period.  Findings revealed that the major reason for the establishment of a nurse training system at Komagome Hospital in 1904 was to prevent in-hospital infections.
