Two analytical results are obtained. First, the equilibrium growth rate is higher if the distribution peak is at an earlier stage of life. Second, a distribution with a peak at an earlier (later) stage of life improves welfare if the equilibrium is dynamically (in)efficient. Our results imply that proper changes in the life cycle wage profile improve economic growth and
