| 内容記述 | This paper discusses whether or not economic growth can promote human happiness. When we examine the very long-term economic history of the world, we see that its period of rapid economic growth has been very short: in other words, the world economy has been growing very slowly or even, in some cases, not at all. Economic science helped produce the theory of economic growth in the age of postwar prosperity, and this paper reviews two schools of theory therein: the growth economy school, and the anti-growth economy school. Finally, this paper presents my assertion that an anti-growth economy (or stationary economy) is preferable, because a growth economy does not necessarily increase human happiness. | |||||||||||||
