While former research has indicated that the reasons why they hold 'fiesta' in spite of its many costs are because of its social and political functions, its construction of 'compadrazgo' relationships, a form of fictive kinship, and religious motivations, I indicate that the ties of personal relationships are also important for their commitment to holding
