Previous studies have pointed out that it may have been a mysterious phenomenon ( as a "direct revelation" from God) due to Müller's distinctive worldview. However, careful examination of Müller's diary and the remaining source material shows that his idea of opening the orphanage was not necessarily a mysterious thing.
