First, we examine the total tendency of the advanced researches on ageism. Second, we identify the outcomes and remaining issues by reviewing with the analytical framework made by components of ageism. As the result of our analysis, we found that data about various individuals' views toward aging have been accumulated. Theoretical consideration about ageism, however, is insufficient. Perhaps as a result of it, Japanese researches on ageism tend to limit their research focuses only to psychological aspects, but not societal and cultural aspects. It is suggested that research on ageism should have more comprehensive research framework with cultural and societal aspects as well as individual psychological
