| 内容記述 | 重度知的障害者に対するケアのうち性的羞恥心が生じる可能性のあるものについて、鯨岡のエピソード記述の方法により、重度知的障害者の弟を持つ姉で福祉職経験のある筆者のエピソードを分析した。弟の着替介助の際に男性器の勃起を目撃したエピソードでは、メタ意味として＜私＞が動揺した理由、弟のケアから逃げ回るようになった理由を考察した。男性利用者の入浴介助を抵抗なく行ったエピソードでは、メタ意味として＜私＞が男性利用者に対して弟と同様の葛藤を抱かなかった理由を分析した。その結果、次の2点が明らかとなった。第一に、女性きょうだいの感情の複雑性である。これにより、障害故に弟に羞恥心が育たないことへの嘆きを提示した。第二に、弟の「ペット化」による生存戦略である。障害故の非言語コミュニケーションは、時にペットのような可愛らしい印象を与える。弟の男性性を去勢し、人間性を取り除くことは＜私＞の生活戦略だったと言える。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | I apply Takashi Kujiraoka’s case description method to analyse potential sex-related shame in the care of people with severe intellectual disabilities. The cases are drawn from my own experiences in social work and as the sibling to a younger brother with severe intellectual disabilities. Considering the meta-meaning of one instance, in which I saw my younger brother's erection while helping him change clothes, I reflect on the reasons for my discomfort and turning away from providing care to him. Considering the meta-meaning of another instance, in which I felt comfortable helping a male client bathe, I reflect on the reasons I did not harbour the same inner conflict regarding him as I did for my younger brother. Two points became clear as a result of my analysis. First, the complexity of siblinghood feelings, which led to turmoil when trying not to make my brother feel ashamed of his disability. Second, my coping strategy of perceiving my brother as a "pet"; like many abled people who often ascribe a sense of docility in the nonverbal cues of disabled people, treating them like pets. In a way, my coping strategy was emasculating my brother and taking away his humanity. | |||||||||||
