Since then, there were more than 5400 Japanese Christians in about 50 communities. After the WWII, most of the Japanese Christians had to retreat to Japan. The chapels and houses for the pastors of Japanese churches were left and taken over to the liberated Korean Christians. Some of the Korean pastors and Christians began their new church or restarted their ministries in the equipped chapels.
