The author examined on the lifestyle and social consciousness by analyzing questionnaire survey in Nakagyo Ward in Kyoto conducted in 2014 as a case study. The author found that some aspects characterized urban core residents of Kyoto such as higher sense of community, more connectedness to local community associations, and more confidence in politics compare to a case of urban core residents in
