Given the assumption that those English expressions concerned can be realized on the semantic scale of gradient from degree to intensity, it can be demonstrated that \"zenzen,\" \"mttaku,\" and \"hijyo-ni\" are also located on a similar semantic continuum. With special attention to the combination of \"zenzen\" + affirmative expressions in Japanese, their meanings and functions will be thoroughly explored within the framework of regeneration, i.e.,
