We can observe from GLA activities a desire for “the technique of the heart\" by the people in the service industry doing emotional labor, and they are forced to compete in individualized and globalized society. By analyzing the technique of the heart, it is argued that the old modern self was just a passive actor who behaves in response to external stimulation, and that today's self should actively control his or her own behavior with the emphasis on self-responsibility. Also, from the view point of GLA's God image, channeling by the founder Shinzi TAKAHASHI and his disciples, and Zen meditation, doctrines of neo new religions in the late capitalism are fairly
