"総合政策科学研究科の5つめのコースとして開設された「ソーシャル・イノベーション研究コース」では「地域社会に生起する具体的な公共問題を解決できる実践能力を兼ね備えた行動型研究者の育成」を目的とし、自らソーシャル・イノベーションのための社会的プロジェクトを実践しつつ、そこから得られた知見を論文として纏めるという特色をもった実践型の研究を行ってきた。本稿は開設後3年が経過し、2期にわたる前期課程修了者を輩出するなかで、試行錯誤を行いながら確立をめざしてきたソーシャル・イノベーション実践研究のために必要な要素について、本研究科ソーシャル・イノベーション研究コースでの教育・研究事例を通して「マインド」、「ツール」、「スキル」という3つの観点から明らかにするものである。 そのために本稿は、まずソーシャル・イノベーションを取り扱う研究の動向の概要について整理するとともに本研究科における「ソーシャル・イノベーション」についての議論とソーシャル・イノベーション研究コースの特色について紹介し、「ソーシャル・イノベーションとは、社会において発生する諸問題を見出し、自らの関心と思い(マインド)に基づいた解決策として独創的な事業手法(ツール)を開発し、その具体的展開を通じて人と社会との関係へ働きかけ(スキル)、新しい社会的価値を創造していくこと。」という定義づけを行ったうえで、「マインド」、「ツール」、「スキル」それぞれについて論じたものである。",
