 note = {同志社神学校の初代神学館、「三十番教室」に続く第2代目神学館は、クラーク神学館である。その設立経緯については、本誌前々号(第70巻第1号)で述べたので、本稿はそれ以降の経緯について、検証する。すなわち設計から竣工に至るまでの消息を明らかにする。設計者はドイツ人のリヒャルト・ゼール、大工は京都の小嶋佐兵衛である。工事着工、定礎式、竣工式、さらには追加寄附、寄付者への感謝状などについて、J . D . デイヴィスの手紙などを利用して、つぶさに紹介する。さらには、意外にもL . L.ジェーンズの落とす影が見られることにも触れている。, The Byron Stone Clarke Memorial Hall was the second building constructed for the School of Theology, Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. It was built in 1893 through a special gift of $11,500, which Mr. and Mrs. Byron Clarke donated to the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions.
