| 内容記述 | E・Hカーは、「歴史とは歴史家と事実との間の相互作用の不断の過程であり、現在と過去との間の尽きることを知らぬ対話なのである」と定義している。これは過去にせよ現在にせよ歴史的な事実が「今、ここに(here and now)」影響を及ぼしていることを示している。近代初期における韓国でのキリスト教、特にプロテスタントは社会福祉において政策や倫理に重要な影響を及ぼしたといわれている。本稿の目的は、近代初期に行われた社会事業を通して、プロテスタントが社会福祉にどのような影響を与えたのかについて明らかにすることである。そのため、プロテスタントが導入された近代初期の韓国の歴史的な状況、すなわち政治的、経済的、社会的な状況を把握する。その後で、プロテスタント宣教師やキリスト者を中心として行われた社会事業を分野別に整理して、歴史的な状況による韓国のプロテスタント社会事業の傾向を論ずる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | As Carr noted, history is a continuous process of interaction between the historian and his facts, an unending dialogue between the present and the past. It means the historical facts affect here and now. The Protestantism introduced to Korea in early modern era has had significant affects on social policies and ethics related to social welfare, as well as with the history of social welfare of Korea. The purpose of this study is to clarify what influence Protestantism had on social welfare through the missionaries who practiced social work in the first modern stage in Korea. First, I investigate the background such as political, economic and social situation of Korea. Second, some specific social work practiced by protestant missionaries and indigenous Christians are described in several fields. Finally, the influence of the Protestantism exerted is considered. | |||||
