The founder started his business in 1663. The head shop was located in Kyoto, and 4 branch shops were located in Tokyo (Koku-cho) , Tokyo(Honjo), Gifu and Osaka. The opening time of them were as follows ; Koku-cho shop ;1668, Honjo shop ;1824, and Gifu shop ;1840's. With regard to Osaka shop Prof. A. Fujita presumed that it opened around Bunkyu-Genji period (1861-64) in his paper in 1995. But the opening time of Osaka shop has not been examined yet.
