Kyū-dai-daisu (also called Kyū-daisu) is a type of daisu shelf unit.It was converyed to Japan from China, and the name Kyū-dai-daisu (passing the examination) comes from the resemblance of this daisu to the gate for new government officers who had passed the examination in Song dynasty in Chaina. Hariya (a family of wealthy merchants lives in Kyoto in kamigyo area) possessed this
