It is in Rape upon Rape, staged in June 1730, that we can trace the first satiric innuendo against Walpole since Fielding returned from Holland. By the coincidence between the time of Fielding's scenario writing of both works, it may be conjectured that both dramas focused on the English rotten elections during Walpole's regime. Thus The Rape upon the Rape was renamed as The Coffee-House Politician in November 1730. As the theatrical names suggest, it can be conjectured that both works set out to satirize an English rotten borough by making Spanish aliens emerge into England or a judge who is a guardian of the English judicial system, is ironically accused as a
