| 内容記述 | 本稿は，ユーロの特徴等を踏まえ，コロナ危機という経済ショックに見舞われたASEAN域内における共通通貨の実現可能性に関する検証を試みた。主な結論として，当該域内において最適通貨圏の理論が成立し経済収斂条件を満たすと判断することは困難であり，段階的な共通通貨の導入が現実的であると判断される。また，こうした共通通貨の導入が，決済コストの低減が見込まれる一方，小規模事業者による経済活動が制限される可能性がある。 | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper attempts to examine the feasibility of a common currency in the ASEAN region, which has been hit by the economic shock of the Corona crisis, based on the characteristics of the euro and other factors. The main conclusion is that it is difficult to conclude that the theory of an optimal currency area can be established and that the economic convergence condition can be satisfied in the region, and that the gradual introduction of a common currency is realistic. While the introduction of such a common currency is expected to reduce settlement costs, it may also restrict economic activities by small businesses. | |||||||||||||
