However, there are issues with the performance evaluation of various methods and the criteria for superiority and inferiority. This paper therefore classifies symbol error reduction methods and examines their features and performance. This paper also derives symbol error reduction efficiency as a performance measure and compares the superiority and inferiority of various methods through simulations. The methods covered here include changing the quantization method, deleting sample values near the quantization step, and symbol error detection and symbol deletion or error
