| 内容記述 | 本稿は，ドイツの哲学者にしてメディア論者として知られるノルベルト・ボルツが2007 年に刊行した『メディアのABC(Das ABC der Medien)』(Wilhelm Fink 社刊)の前半部分を，筆者なりの解釈に従って要約し，紹介するものである。これによって，ドイツで盛んに論じられながらも，難解なためもあって全体像が見えにくいドイツのメディア論の一端を，日本の研究者に伝えるのが本稿の目的である。ボルツは『メディアのABC』の序文で，ドイツは世界的に，メディア研究をリードする存在でありながら，多くの人にとってドイツのメディア論が理解不能なままであると述べている。その上で，「メディアリテラシー」についての一種の基礎コースとして執筆したのが本書であるとしている。ボルツについては，既に複数の著作が日本語に翻訳されているものの，彼のメディア論を主題とした研究論文等はわずかである。本稿は，ドイツのメディア論の論点とともに，ボルツ自身が考えるメディア論の一端を日本の読者に伝えようとするものである。本書は序章のほか，全15 章からなるが，今回は，その前半部分(序章および1〜7 章)を紹介したい。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper summarizes and introduces a discussion of Das ABC der Medien (The ABC of Media) by Norbert Bolz, a German philosopher and media theorist, published in 2007 by Wilhelm Fink, while rephrasing his texts according to my interpretation for the convenience of informing Japanese readers of what he means in an understandable manner. The purpose of this paper is to serve as an introduction for researchers in Japan to media theory, which is actively discussed in Germany but is difficult to understand because of its complexity. In the preface to Das ABC der Medien, Bolz states that although Germany can be proud of being a world leader in media studies, German media theory remains incomprehensible to many people. He then states that he wrote this book as a kind of basic course on "media literacy." Although several of Bolz's works have already been translated into Japanese, his studies, especially those on media theories, have not been seriously discussed in the Japanese academic world, with a few exceptions. This paper conveys to Japanese readers not only the points of discussion in German media theory but also Bolz's own thoughts on media. This book consists of 15 chapters and a prologue, but this paper covers only the first half (the prologue and Chapters 1 to 7) because of space limitations. The chapter titles are as follows: Ch. 1 Ultrashort History of Media, Ch. 2 Management of Attentions, Ch. 3 Journalism in the Signs of the World Wide Web, Ch. 4 Fascination with Television, Ch. 5 Suspicion of Manipulation, Ch. 6 The Function of Moralizing, and Ch. 7 Consumption of Disaster and the Training of Readiness for Fear. | |||||
