Chapter 1 unveils a direct photoirradiation approach for activating C-H bonds in thioanisole derivatives, enabling the derivatization of sulfur-containing organic compounds without photocatalysts. Chapter 2 introduces a visible light-mediated synthesis of sulfur-containing six-membered organic compounds with carbon-carbon double bonds using thioanisole derivatives, maleimide derivatives, and titanium dioxide particles. Chapter 3 investigates the aerobic oxidation of thioanisole under UV irradiation, revealing that sulfoxide can be selectively obtained using trifluoroethanol as the solvent. Additionally, the thesis explores the generation of percarbonate from carbonate ions using a boron-doped diamond anode and the epoxidation of alkenes using water as the oxygen donor with a manganese complex
