 note = {留岡幸助(1864ｰ1934)は、近代日本を代表する社会事業家である。彼が遺した膨大な日記は、現在、北海道家庭学校(紋別郡遠軽町)で保管されている。当該資料には、彼が関わった監獄改良や感化教育をはじめ、欧米の社会事業の視察や研究をつうじて日本にもたらされた専門的知見、内務省によって推進された社会事業の制度化にかんする詳細な事柄が記されている。本稿は、当該資料を用いて共同研究をつうじて判明した書誌的事項について明らかにするものである。, Kōsuke Tomeoka (1864-1934) was a pioneering social worker in modern Japan. His diary, housed at Hokkaido Home School in Engaru Town, Monbetsu Conuty, includes information on Tomeoka's involvement in prison reform and reformatory education, as well as his extensive knowledge of social work practices in Europe and the United States that he brought to Japan.
