コロナ禍は人と物資の移動を制限し、サプライチェーン途絶など多くの困難をもたらした。日系2次サプライヤーの日進工業は、とりわけ人手不足の問題に直面した。コロナ前から取り組んでいた平準化生産を進めることでコロナ禍を乗り越え、平準化生産への取り組みは従業員の多能工化を促進した。
COVID-19 pandemic restricted the movoment of people and goods and caused many difficulties, including disruption of supply chain. Nissin Kogyo, a second tier Japanese supplier, faced shortage of skilled labor. But they got over COVID-19 pandemic by developing leveled production which they have aproached befor COVID-19 pandemic, the aproaching leveled production developed multi-skill of workers.
