日本第二の都市圏の中心都市である大阪市とその中心区である北区の地域社会構造の変動について検討を加えた。大阪市の24区ごとの地域社会構造の変化をみると、都心6区では人口の増加が顕著であること、職業構成からみた社会階層も都心6区ではかなりの変化がみられることが判明した。また、北区の19の連合振興町会(旧小学校区)別の社会的指標を見ると、それぞれ多様な変化を見せている。本論では、この19の地区を、都心ターミナル・繁華街地域、商業・業務・住宅混合地域、商店街・住宅混合地域、工場・労働者街から都心周辺住宅地に変動した地域に区分し、その変容について明らかにした。
In Osaka city, many new residents have been moving into the central city wards, while the peripheral wards have been showing a decrease in population. In both areas, community social structures were changed due to this movement. In the central city wards, specialist & technical workers as well as administrative & managerial workers increased, while in the peripheral wards the number of workers involved in production processes decreased. In the Kita-ku (a central ward), the primary school districts (19 small districts) were changed into a shopping/amusement zone, a business/shopping/residential zone, a shopping street/residence zone and an outskirts residence zone.
